Currently the City may issue a $50 fine after the third water waste citation and $100 for every subsequent citation.
“We believe that coaching to compliance produces the best result, and our water conservation results for the past six months prove that approach works in Folsom,” says City Manager Evert Palmer. “To date we have not found it necessary to levy any fines.
“We congratulate our community on achieving a 22.4% water reduction, exceeding the state’s 20% mandate. This reduction reflects all potable water use from January to June 2014, as compared to the same period in 2013. We feel confident our responsible citizenry will continue to comply with water restrictions as the drought cycle continues.”
