Learn the ins-and-outs of municipal public safety at the 2016 Citizens Academy, hosted by Folsom Police and Fire departments. Topics include crime scene investigations, identity theft, traffic safety, K-9 and mounted demonstrations, 911 response, emergency preparedness and more. The Citizens Academy is an educational program designed to create a greater understanding and trust between public safety agencies and the residents of Folsom. The Academy is also a required basic training program for the Citizens Assisting Public Safety (CAPS) volunteer program. Classes begin March 9 and are held for 11consecutive weeks on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Applications are due by Monday, February 22.
