PG&E will replace natural gas distribution lines at Riley Street and Blue Ravine Road, requiring road and lane closures at the intersection this weekend.
The pipeline replacement project will improve the distribution of the natural gas system and the safety and reliability of the infrastructure.
Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18 through approximately noon on Saturday, March 19, Blue Ravine Road will be closed between East Bidwell Street and Riley Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured from Riley Street to Wales Drive to East Bidwell Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured up East Bidwell Street to Wales Drive to Riley Street.
Traffic entering the Blue Ravine Oaks neighborhood will only be allowed access at the intersections of Riley Street and Hazelmere Drive and Riley Street at Timson Drive. Traffic may exit the Blue Ravine Oaks neighborhood at Blue Ravine Road and Crossing Way but can only proceed on northbound lanes. Driveway access from the Willow Creek Town Center onto Blue Ravine Road will be closed.
Additionally, Blue Ravine Road northbound lanes will remain closed from noon on Saturday, March 19 to 6 a.m. on Monday, March 21. Northbound traffic will be detoured from Riley Street to Wales Drive to East Bidwell Street. A single southbound lane will be open to public traffic as soon as PG&E has determined that it is safe.
Message signs will be installed to alert motorists about the closures, and flaggers will direct traffic. Motorists should allow for extra time when traveling through the area. The work may cause some noise disturbances.
