The Special Primary Election for Senate District 1 will take place on March 26, 2019. In Sacramento County, Senate District 1 covers Orangevale, Folsom, Gold River, and most of Fair Oaks. Because this is a Primary Election it is possible there may be a General Election in June. However, if one candidate receives a majority of the votes, 50% + 1, no Special General Election will be held.
Every registered voter within Senate District 1 in Sacramento County will be mailed a ballot. Voters have the choice to vote one of three ways: by mail (no postage necessary), at a Ballot Drop Box, or at a Vote Center.
Here are the three ways you can vote:
Mail it – no postage is necessary. Place your voted ballot in your signed pink envelope and drop it in the mail.
Drop it off – at a Ballot Drop Box, the Elections Office, or at a Vote Center. Drop Boxes are available 28 days before the election. A 24 hour Ballot Drop Box is available until 8:00 p.m. on Election night outside our office, located at 7000 65th St, Suite A, Sacramento CA 95823.
Visit a Vote Center – and vote in person. Here you can register or update your registration and vote the same day. You can also request a replacement ballot, vote using an accessible ballot marking device, and receive voting assistance in multiple languages. One Vote Center will be open 11 days before, and including, Election Day, and two additional Vote Centers will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Ballots will be mailed the week of February 25, and the County Voter Information Guides will be mailed the week of February 18. Learn more at www.elections.saccounty.net.
