Trees are a treasured asset in Folsom and have widespread benefits to the community. The City of Folsom’s tree preservation ordinance provides a framework to preserve and protect Folsom’s trees. An updated version of the ordinance has been released that addresses specific gaps and ambiguities and incorporates current best management practices so that the regulations are clear, easy to follow, and help preserve and maintain healthy trees in Folsom. A public workshop to discuss the tree preservation ordinance update takes place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, before the regular Folsom City Council meeting, at Folsom City Hall, 50 Natoma Street.
