Open House on Proposed Utility Rate Increases

Wednesday, November 6, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Folsom Community Center
The City of Folsom is currently considering recommendations in an independent Rate Study to increase rates for water, wastewater, and solid waste services in the years 2020-2024.

Utility rates are th e primary source of revenue for the City of Folsom’s Water, Wastewater, and Solid Waste divisions. They fund utility operations and maintenance, including upgrades to infrastructure, replacement of utility vehicles, compliance with State and Federal regulations, and debt service for previous capital improvements to the city’s water treatment plant and facilities.

Utility rates have not increased for many years. The city has not made comprehensive adjustments to solid waste rates since 2004, the wastewater rates since 2008, and the water rates since 2011.

The public is invited to learn more about proposed rate increases and ask questions during an Open House from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 6 at the Folsom Community Center at 52 Natoma Street.
