City Seeks Input on Design Standards for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)

The City of Folsom Community Development Department is seeking public input about design standards for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). ADUs, also known as granny flats, in-law units, or second units, are attached or detached residential dwelling units typically on the same property as a single-family home.

The city is in the process of creating a new ADU ordinance as a result of changes to state law and is seeking public input on design standards for ADUs in the Historic District, as well as the rest of the city.

A public workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 12 at the Folsom Community Center, 52 Natoma Street. In addition, a public meeting will be held before the Historic District Commission on Wednesday, February 19 at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 50 Natoma Street.
