Fight the Bite
Spring is in the air and so are mosquitoes! The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District reminds residents to protect themselves from mosquito-transmitted diseases. As temperatures warm up, conditions are perfect for mosquitoes to thrive. Now is a good time to inspect yards and patios to locate and drain any standing water from flowerpots, birth baths, tires, dog dishes, and other small sources where water can accumulate and breed mosquitoes. Reducing mosquitoes now will go a long way later in the season.
While COVID-19 is not transmitted by mosquitoes, they can certainly transmit a variety of other debilitating diseases, especially West Nile virus which is prevalent in California. Learn more at www.fightthebite.net.
