M.O.W.E.R. Program

Minimizing Organic Waste with Education and Recycling (M.O.W.E.R.)

The M.O.W.E.R. Program helps Folsom meet its recycling goals by reducing organic waste that may otherwise go to the landfill. Residents can sign up for one of the workshops to learn how to recycle yard waste through composting and grasscycling. At the end of each workshop, participants receive their choice of a compost bin at a discounted rate or a mulching lawnmower rebate offer of $25. All mowers must be bagless at the time of purchase.

Workshops last approximately one hour. MOWER Program bins and rebates are only available one per household and limited to Folsom residents.

Pre-registration is required. To sign up call 916-461-6730 (select "4") or sign up online through the Parks and Recreation Department. Once on their website, click "Browse Activities" and search for keyword "backyard composting" to find the workshop.
